Acetone is a colorless liquid having chemical formula C3H6O with molar mass of 58.08 g/mol. It finds application as thinning agent for polyester resin, as a solvent for plastics & synthetic fibers, and for cleaning tools. This compound is also utilized as an intermediate for chemical synthesis and in various organic reactions. Acetone is most commonly used chemical peeling agent for glycolic & salicylic acids. It is known to have autoignition temperature of 465 degrees Celsius with flash point -20 C.
